3in30 Challenge

Encouragement, accountability, and community - helping you make your goals reality, three at a time!

Accountability: The Magic Motivator

What is the difference between 3in30 and simply setting three goals for yourself each month, and trying to make progress on your own?

Accountability!

It has been many a Thursday night that has found me remembering that I have a 3in30 post going up on my blog the next day, which sometimes leads me to go and remind myself what my goals were (true story), and then try to accomplish SOMETHING on that list so that I didn’t had to have a completely negative report.

You see, when I blogged my intent to make progress on those three goals, I didn’t just set them for myself.  I set them for the world.  (Well– for the world to see, anyway.)  I hit publish, and I made a commitment.  But even simply blogging about the progress is not quite enough. I learned that when I quietly stopped blogging about my weight lost journey when it became a weight plateau journey.  No one said anything.  No one noticed.  I simply began filling my Wednesdays with other content, and my stomach with sugary treats.

The key ingredient in the 3in30 system is the community accountability. We link-up (and ‘fess up) every Friday (or sometimes Saturday if you are like me and need just a little bit more time).  There is something so beautiful about setting goals together, and supporting one another.

Two people are better than one, for they can help each other succeed.  Ecclesiastes 4:9, NLT

This group of women, all trying to live life on purpose, and not let the days and weeks and months slip away, are the true heartbeat of this concept.  We need each other.  It may have never occurred to me to set a goal about “saying yes to my children,” or “cleaning out my wardrobe and donating to charity.”   It doesn’t matter that your goal of trying new recipes each week makes me shudder because I am not one who enjoys cooking according to a recipe.   We are all working together, individually, to achieve goals. To leave our mark in the days that go by, not letting life slip away from us.

Partnering Together

It’s a partnership.  And it is more important than you could imagine.   From you all I have discovered great ways to utilize parts of my kitchen, and how to thrift objects that can be great decorations for my home.  I have learned to think before I just say no to my children.  I have been reminded that the words we speak, and the way that we speak them have power, and I have learned lessons from my kitchen appliances.

So this month, lets focus on our community of “getting things done-ers” and celebrate the successes, lifting each other up.  We can help each other succeed!!
